The Mecosta County Sheriff Office shares a building with the 117-bed Mecosta County Jail and is responsible for the care of inmates who are arrested and held on felony or misdemeanor charges while they wait for their trial or bail, and for short periods after sentencing if they are being transferred or if they are serving a short sentence of a few months.

The jail has a phone line that is open 24/7 for any questions or concerns at 231-592-0156, and an online portal that is updated regularly with the status of inmates.

To visit an inmate, it is necessary to register for an account where the inmate schedule will be shown, and you can select the day and time that you wish to visit. All visits must be scheduled in advance.
