Greene County Youth Academy

The Greene County Youth Academy is one of the facilities that is operated by the local juvenile department, and it provides a community based treatment. It offers an intensive program for juveniles that includes education, counseling for individuals, groups, and family, focuses on developing life skills and cognitive behavioral treatment along with chances for recreation and social skills development. It follows a strict progression from week one, orientation, where they will set goals and familiarize themselves with the facility and expectations. Through the following weeks they will pass through 8 levels, each ranging from 2 weeks to 1 month, meeting a new goal for each level. Each of the levels focus on learning how to be productive, healthy, engaged in the community, form their own plans, learning, personal growth, becoming engaged with their own plans and future, and other skills they will need to build successful futures. They will also receive all the care that is required during the program, opportunites for recreation and group activities, families are encouraged to engage in the family activities provided, and to support their child throughout the process. Visitation: Each visit will be 15 minutes in length, and will occur Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 3:25 until 4:55.
