Treatment programs offered at this facility include anger management, Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous, thinking for a change, and a program called "New Leash on Life". The New Leash on Life program allows inmates to work with dogs through the Carteret County Humane Society.

Vocational training options include in dental technology, masonry, carpentry, upholstery, electrical, horticulture, information systems, industrial cleaning, and plumbing. Additional academic courses are offered that allow an inmate to earn a GED and get an adult basic education.

This county also has a North Carolina State Prison.

The Pamlico County Jail allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
