It was designed and built as a modular facility which allows for additions to be easily added in the future to continue meeting the needs of the surrounding communities. The five housing blocks hold the majority of residents, while the medical station cares for their medical needs, mental health care is provided, and each will spend a short time in the booking and release areas, while visitors and others will access only the lobby and visiting areas.
For the comfort of offenders there are several items for purchase from the commissary that can be funded by family members or friends to ensure they have access to clothing, paperback books, playing cards, paper and pens, envelopes, and more. Alternatives to funding the canteen online, inmates accounts may also be funded at the kiosk found in the jail lobby.
During incarceration inmates will be engaged in programming that provide education, treatment, live skills, social skills, and support for health and mental health concerns, but they will also have access to phones within the common areas to allow inmates to make outgoing phone calls to their family, friends, legal counsel, and other care providers.
Phone accounts can be created and funded online, and this allows for them to make phone calls between 8:00am and 5:00pm, with the phones being turned off during meals.
