Moore City Jail is operated by the city police department and operates as a temporary holding facility for those who are arrested in the city and the surrounding area. It consists of only a few single cells, with no doubles and each detainee getting their own space. It does not have the capacity of a large facility, so it also does not have the full capabilities of it. Visitation is limited due to the short length of stays, and it is not recommended to send mail to inmates as they are unlikely to be in the same facility long enough for it to be delivered.
Other limitations include less space for recreation, less reliable results on the inmate search that is used for the jails within Oklahoma, and less opportunity for socialization with other inmates. For inquiry on if a friend or family member is being held a the facility calling the main jail line can provide that information. Inmates can make outgoing phone calls and are allowed to speak to their loved ones via phone call. They are also allowed to call their attorney to help plan their defense. Inmates are most often held at this facility until they receive bail or while awaiting their initial appearance.
The department can be contacted at 405-793-5171 and visiting hours are provided Tuesday and Sunday from 3:30pm until 10pm.
