About the Comanche County Detention Center

The Comanche County Jail, sometimes called the Lawton Jail, was closed for a short period of time, and then reopened as the Comanche County Detention Center in September of 2003 with 284 beds. It is an updated building that has improved technology and tools for maintaining the health and safety of all inmates, officers, and the community. Inmates that end up housed at this facility are from the surrounding area as well as the state and federal law enforcement agencies.

A Correctional Emergency Response Team is trained and present to respond to any emergencies or incidents that may occur within the facility.
