About the Indiana County Jail

This red and tan brick structure houses the Indiana County Jail and stands at 665 Hood School Rd in Indiana, PA. It is operated by the local county sheriff in Indiana County and their staff. The business hours of the main lobby are 8:30am to 4pm from Monday to Friday and can be reached at 724-471-7500 for any questions regarding status of an inmate, bail, visiting, and others.

While housed in this location there are many things that are available to help improve the lives of inmates both within the facility and upon their release. Opportunities ae available to attend educational classes, learn new parenting skills, and find coping skills for substance abuse concerns.

To remain in contact with an inmate during their incarceration in this jail a phone account can be registered online.

For visits, there are set visiting hours that will encourage inmates to maintain outside relationships and strengthen the support system for after their release. General population and regular housing units have access to scheduled visits with those on the approved visitation list, while maximum security and new intakes will have their visitation for 30 minutes at a time on Mondays and Thursdays only during the afternoon and evening hours. Restricted housing has visits only on Monday afternoon and evening hours, and Protective Custody inmates only have visiting hours on Tuesdays in the evening and afternoon. For the administrative segregation and those in medical housing there is access to visits during the afternoon and evening hours only. To confirm visiting times and days check online... currently video visits are each day 9am-11:30am, 1:45pm-4:30pm, and 6pm-8:45pm. Weekend visits begin no earlier than 9am and end no later than 8:45pm.

The Indiana County Jail allows inmates to receive pre-metered postcards like the type purchased from the post office.
