These individuals will be permitted to have outside clothing and to leave the jail each morning to go directly to their school or work, and will return directly at the end of their day. Mental health and drug or addictions counselling is also provided for those who need them, and AA meetings are held regularly. On average the facility will have 32 inmates precent each day, and this allows for easy access to the phones, which are available from 8 am until 10 pm each day, and can be used when the inmate has time to do so around their other responsibilities. These are collect calls and can be billed directly to the phone bill of the person receiving the calls or may be paid with a prepaid phone card purchased from the Sheriff’s Office. As both men and women are housed at this facility, it can accommodate any adult who has been arrested by the local sheriff or those in the immediate areas. To maintain outside relationships and to keep the sense of community, visits are encouraged from friends and family who are awaiting their release. These visitors must be on an approved list, and can not have been recently incarcerated, involved in the case that the inmate is currently facing or serving time for, and may not bring in outside items to any visit. Visiting hours for the general population are on Friday and Sunday from 7pm until 9pm, while female inmates and those in work release will have their visits on Tuesdays from 7pm until 9pm. Each visit is 20 minutes long with one person, and during times of overcrowding these visits may be cut to 10 minutes to ensure that all inmates have an opportunity to receive a visit each week. Juveniles are housed in the Juvenile Detention Center and as such have different rules surrounding phone calls and visits.

Inmate Money Accounts

How Do You Deposit Money for an Inmate in the Beadle County Correction Center?

There are FOUR options for putting money on an inmate's books:

Option 1 - Dropping Money at the Jail
Bring money to the jail in person.
Either the jail personnel will process the Inmate Account payment or you will use a Jail ATM self-serve kiosk in the lobbies that accepts cash, debit or credit cards.

Option 2 - Deposit Inmate Money Online
Beadle County Correction Center uses Jail ATM to process all online deposits to an inmate's account. The company charges you a small fee for doing so, but the fee probably isn't as much as gas and parking would cost to take it to the jail in person.

Option 3 - Mail the Inmate Deposit to the Jail
Mailing a deposit takes more time to process than the other methods but can be done if you live too far away to bring it in person and you don't have a debit/credit card for online deposits. Never send cash. Always send a Money Order from the US Post Office, a reputable bank or Western Union. Call the Beadle County Correction Center first as they may want you to do this online or at the jail kiosk instead.
Make the Money Order out to the inmate's name and put their Inmate ID# in memo section of the Money Order.
