About the Jackson County Jail & Sheriff

INTERESTING FACTS about the Jackson County Jail: In early 2023, a new jail expansion was opened, that added 100 beds to the facility and created a new kitchen and booking area. A new HVAC system was also installed throughout the entire facility. This jail prides itself in having special dinners at Holidays for all inmates.

VISIT YOUR LOVED ONE  

Having an outlet to contact loved ones outside the  Jackson County Jail may be critical to the well-being of someone serving time behind bars.

Remote Visitation, in the comfort of your own home is available for most facilities. Visitation hours may be dependent upon the sex of the person and, also dependent upon the section of the facility in which they are housed.

 In 2020, COVID stopped in person visitation in all facilities, but some have reinstated in person visitation. Call (931) 268-0180 to check the current status of in person visitation in.

You must submit a picture and government photo ID for facility approval prior to visiting someone in our facility and there is a strict protocol that must be followed or privileges can be revoked.

If you are doing in person visitation, visitors are subject to search. Dress appropriately. If too much skin is showing, you may be refused visitation rights.

COMMISSARY

CASH ONLY in the lobby! Posts immediately for use. See other ways to deposit commissary below. Cash is available immediately, but money orders may take longer to post.

MAIL

Please include the inmates name, ID number, dorm number and cell or bed number if possible, when sending mail. 

DO NOT SEND lewd photos. All mail will be inspected by authorities and contraband seized.

IMPORTANT - All remote visitation at the Jackson County Jail & Sheriff is conducted by City Tele Coin video.

You can visit your inmate at the jail, or from your own device or computer at home.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office provides a video kiosk in the lobby of the Sheriff's Office free of charge.

Visitation is limited to 10 minutes per visitor per day. Visitors must call ahead and follow ALL visitation guidelines.

If not coming to the Sheriff's Office, you may visit with an inmate using City Tele Coin fom home.

Video visitations are monitored and visitors MUST follow visitor guidelines. Visitors that are found to violate these guidelines, will have their visitation privileges suspended.
