⇓ Learn more ⇓ Show lessDavis County Jail is the main holding and detention facility for not only Davis County but all communities within, and can be used to hold federal inmates as needed. It also operates the ankle monitoring program which allows non violent offenders an alternative to full time incarceration by tracking their location and offering limited movements to work, or assisting the facility's employees with work around the community. This lowers the pressure and overcrowding potential from the jail while still ensuring that strict rules are being followed while serving their sentence. For those who do not qualify for this program, they are housed full time in the jail. To determine if someone is incarcerated at this facility an online listing includes all inmates, the amount of bail, and their charges at the link above this section.
Incarceration is focused on rehabilitation and improving skills to prevent a return to jail in the future, and this is supported not only by the education programs within the jail, the ability to learn and work with the county employees on ankle monitoring, as well as commissary purchases for hygiene and other items, and phone calls to family with visits from friends and family as well. Each of these aspects of the experience work to help the inmate avoid a return to jail and to successfully reintegrate into their community once they are released. Commissary accounts can be funded through the kiosk within the lobby or through jailatm.com.
Gift packets can also be purchased at this website and sent directly to the inmate. Supporting ongoing contact with friend and family has shown to improve the mental health and the emotional health of the inmates, and this can be done via email, phone calls, and visits through NCIC; instructions in the sections below. Online visits through that site are available each day from 9am to 11:30am, 12:30pm to 5pm, and 7pm to 9pm. Onsite visits are permitted Monday and Tuesday from 9am to noon and 1pm to 5pm, and Sunday and Wednesday from 1-5pm and 7-9pm. Visits must be scheduled a day in advance, and two onsite visits of 20 minutes are allowed each week, with two visits each day being permitted for online visits.

What happens during booking at Davis County Correctional Facility?
After arrest, individuals are processed at Davis County Correctional Facility, where they undergo a series of steps that determine their charges and whether they’ll be released on their own recognizance, allowed to post bail, or held until their court date.
The first rule for anyone arrested is to remain silent. Anything they say can be used in court, so it’s best to speak only to an attorney about the incident.
Here are the typical stages of the booking process at Davis County Correctional Facility:
- Verifying the person’s identity.
- Taking mugshots.
- Questions regarding medical and mental health history, along with drug and gang affiliations.
- Collecting DNA if necessary.
- Conducting a physical search.
- Confiscating personal belongings.
- Providing a phone call.
If you need details about an offender’s bail or bond, contact the facility at 801-451-4200.
How do you post bail in Davis County?
If someone is taken to Davis County Correctional Facility in Farmington for booking, the next steps depend on their case:
1. The individual may be released without bail, under a promise to appear at a court hearing.
2. They could be held in custody until their trial.
3. They may post a bail or bond for release. To find out the exact bail amount, call 801-451-4200.
Bail payments can be handled in various ways.
- Cash bonds are paid in full, normally at the jail's bonding window or with the clerk of court, by cash, cashier's check or money order, and card payments are often possible through a kiosk in the lobby or an online vendor for a convenience fee; have the inmate's full name and booking number ready, and reach the jail at 801-451-4200.
- Licensed bail bond agents in Davis County can facilitate payment.
- Property bonds are available in many courts: an owner may pledge land or a home after proving clear title and equity of at least the bond amount (often double) with the deed and a recent tax or appraisal figure, and the court that set bail decides whether to accept it.

There are FOUR options for putting money on an inmate's books:
Option 1 - Dropping Money at the Jail
Bring money to the jail in person.
Either the jail personnel will process the Inmate Account payment or you will use a Jail ATM self-serve kiosk in the lobbies that accepts cash, debit or credit cards.
Option 2 - Deposit Inmate Money Online
Davis County Correctional Facility uses Jail ATM to process all online deposits to an inmate's account. The company charges you a small fee for doing so, but the fee probably isn't as much as gas and parking would cost to take it to the jail in person.
Option 3 - Mail the Inmate Deposit to the Jail
Mailing a deposit takes more time to process than the other methods but can be done if you live too far away to bring it in person and you don't have a debit/credit card for online deposits. Never send cash. Always send a Money Order from the US Post Office, a reputable bank or Western Union. Call the Davis County Correctional Facility first as they may want you to do this online or at the jail kiosk instead.
Make the Money Order out to the payee the jail names (check with the jail first) and put their Inmate ID# in memo section of the Money Order. Never mail cash or a personal check.
