Every detail on this page is checked by hand, not scraped. This unofficial directory helps friends and family of incarcerated individuals find critical information — inmate lists, locations, bail resources, visitation hours, rules, and text, phone, email, and mail services — for jails, detention centers, and prisons across the United States.
Get inmate information from the 86-bed Cross County Detention Center 24 hours a day by calling 870-238-5700.
Any adult arrested in the county on a misdemeanor or felony is brought to this jail for booking and processing. After that, the charges decide whether they are bonded out, released on their own recognizance, or held until the disposition of their trial.
The inmate search tool shows who has been arrested and remains in custody.
Inmates given less than a year serve their sentence at this facility. Those given more than a year are transferred to the Arkansas State Prison System or the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
This page covers searching the official roster, calling the facility at 870-238-5700, directions, the visitation schedule, inmate account funding, mail, phone calls, voicemail, email and texting, tablet rentals, bail bond instructions, and commissary.
Save the jail ID or booking number as soon as you have it. If it’s not online, call Cross County Detention Center at 870-238-5700.

Cross County Detention Center Inmate Search
Common questions about finding an inmate in the Cross County Detention Center, how jail rosters work, and what happens after booking are answered in our Frequently Asked Questions and Answers.
Still unsure? Reach the Cross County Detention Center at 870-238-5700.
Even though the Cross County Detention Center is licensed for 86 inmates, it is often forced to accommodate many more, especially on weekends. In most city and county jails in Arkansas, at least 40% of the population turns over each month, another 30% every 90 days, and another 20% every six months. About 8-9% stay incarcerated between six and twelve months. Offenders who stay longer than a year are usually facing serious charges like rape or murder, and because those cases take longer to prepare for trial, anyone arrested in Cross County on such charges remains in one of the Cross County facilities much longer.
The only charges for which bail can be denied in Arkansas are capital offenses where the proof is evident or the presumption is great. For all other offenses, Cross County judges may release a defendant on their own recognizance, set conditions of release, or set bail.
Cross County law enforcement agencies arrest and detain approximately 1,720 offenders per year.
The Cross County Jail and Detention Center sits beside the sheriff’s office at 1600 South Falls Boulevard in Wynne. It is run by the Cross County Sheriff’s Office under Sheriff David West, and the jail line, (870) 238-5700, is answered 24 hours a day. The building has separate housing for low- and medium-security men, high-security men, and women, plus isolation and temporary holding cells. Most people inside are waiting for their cases to be resolved; others have been sentenced and are waiting to be moved to the Arkansas Division of Correction. A staff of dispatcher/matrons and jailers runs the facility, meals are cooked in the jail’s own kitchen, and the sheriff’s office reported about 1,500 bookings in 2020 alone.
To find out whether someone is being held, open the sheriff’s inmate roster, accept the disclaimer, and choose either current inmates or people released in the last 48 hours. The same site keeps a warrant list, which mostly shows failure-to-appear and failure-to-pay-fine warrants. Court records for Cross County, which is part of Arkansas’s First Judicial Circuit, are on Search ARCourts. If you think you have a warrant, talk with the sheriff’s office or a lawyer before turning yourself in.
After booking, Arkansas Rule of Criminal Procedure 8.1 requires that an arrested person be brought before a judge without unnecessary delay, generally within 48 hours. Under Article 2, §8 of the Arkansas Constitution, everyone is bailable before conviction except in capital cases where the proof is evident or the presumption great, and Rules 9.1–9.2 direct judges to consider release on recognizance or with conditions before setting money bail. When a bondsman posts the bond, Arkansas Code §17-19-301 sets the premium at 10% of the bond, rounded up to the nearest $5, paid in full before release, plus small state-required fees that are not refunded. Call the jail for a person’s bond amount and the accepted ways to pay.
Phone calls, video visits, messaging and tablets all run through City Tele Coin. Remote video visits from home are short – about 10 minutes per visitor per day – and a free video kiosk is available in the sheriff’s office lobby. In-person visits are limited to about an hour a week, with the time slot assigned by housing unit; bring a valid photo ID, expect to fill out a visitor form on your first trip, and keep children with a parent or guardian. Call ahead to confirm the current schedule before you drive over.
Address letters with the person’s full name and ID number to Cross County Detention Center, 1600 South Falls Blvd., Wynne, AR 72396. Paperback books must ship straight from a retailer such as Amazon or Barnes & Noble; hardcovers are turned away. Money for commissary can be sent through CommissaryDeposit.com, City Tele Coin’s deposit site, and commissary orders for snacks, hygiene items and clothing can be placed at CommissaryOrder.com.
No public bus serves Wynne, so most visitors drive and park at the sheriff’s office. Falls Boulevard is the town’s main road: the Shell at 988 S. Falls Blvd. and the Mobil at 205 S. Falls Blvd. are a short drive north of the jail, and for food there is Tacker’s Shake Shack at 805 S. Falls Blvd. and McDonald’s at 1798 Falls Blvd.
After an arrest, individuals are taken to Cross County Detention Center for the booking process, where their identity is confirmed, charges are reviewed, and decisions are made about whether they will be released on bail or detained.
The arrested individual should remain silent during booking, as anything said could be used against them. It’s important to wait for legal representation before answering questions.

There are two options for putting money on an inmate's books:
Choice 1 - Deposit Inmate Money Online
Cross County Detention Center uses CommissaryDeposit.com to process all online deposits to an inmate's account. The company charges you a small fee for doing so, but the fee probably isn't as much as gas and parking would cost to take it to the jail in person.
Choice 2 - Mail the Inmate Deposit to the Jail
Mailing a deposit takes more time to process than the other methods but can be done if you live too far away to bring it in person and you don't have a debit/credit card for online deposits. Never send cash. Always send a Money Order from the US Post Office, a reputable bank or Western Union.
Make the Money Order out to the inmate's name and put their Inmate ID# in memo section of the Money Order.
**Call 870-238-5700 first to ask Cross County Detention Center if this option is still available.

Envelopes
The Cross County Detention Center may also allow regular postcards and envelopes to be mailed to inmates as well, however more and more jails are no longer allowing envelopes due to concern about paper being dipped into liquefied drugs like methamphetamines and cocaine and then mailed into secure facilities.
