The Liberty County Jail is licensed for 200 inmates at any given time, yet it is often forced to make room for many more offenders, especially on weekends. Most city and county jails in Florida turn over at least 35-40% of their population monthly, another 25-30% every 90 days, and another 15-20% every six months. Approximately 8-9% remain incarcerated between six and twelve months. Inmates who stay beyond twelve months are usually facing serious charges like rape or murder. The Liberty County Jail is run by the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office at 12422 NW Revell Road, Bristol, FL 32321 (mailing address P.O. Box 67). The jail’s direct line is (850) 756-9749, and 24-hour dispatch is (850) 643-2235. The jail administrator is Allan Crosby. According to the Sheriff’s jail page, the jail houses more than 80 inmates. That includes people awaiting trial or sentencing and people serving short county sentences, as well as female inmates from Calhoun and Gulf counties. Anyone sentenced to more than a year goes to state prison. The jail offers vocational programs, counseling and substance abuse treatment along with food, clothing and medical care. Bristol is on Eastern Time.
After booking, anyone without a preset bond sees a judge within 24 hours under Florida Rule 3.130. Liberty County is part of the Second Judicial Circuit. The Sheriff says its website carries booking reports, and you can also search VINELink or call the jail.
The Florida Constitution (Art. I, §14) guarantees most people pretrial release on reasonable conditions, except in certain capital or life felony cases or when no conditions can protect the community. The Florida Supreme Court’s 2026 statewide bond schedule sets minimum bond amounts for release before first appearance. The Second Circuit’s chief judge may set higher ones, and the first appearance judge makes the final call. Some charges can’t be bonded out until a judge reviews them (§§ 903.011, 903.046, 907.041), while many small misdemeanors end with a notice to appear. Call the jail for cash bond hours and accepted payments. A bail bond agent charges a nonrefundable 10% premium on state bonds.

Gas is available at the Exxon at 10743 State Road 20 and the Marathon at 10695 State Road 20. For food, try Subway at 10994 State Road 20 or the Apalachee Restaurant at 10536 State Road 20.

How Do You Deposit Money for an Inmate in the Liberty County Jail?
Option 1 - Dropping Money at the Jail
Bring money to the jail in person.
Either the jail personnel will process the Inmate Account payment or you will use a Jail ATM self-serve kiosk in the lobbies that accepts cash, debit or credit cards.
Option 2 - Deposit Inmate Money Online
