Education opportunities are available for high school classes or a GED, ways to learn new life skills, money management and job searches, skill development, and work opportunities.
A labor program is present that allows inmates to practice skills in carpentry, construction, county work crews, laundry, administrative work, and ground maintenance. Developing these skills can help inmates to find employment after their incarceration and to provide for themselves and their families, which reduces recidivism and provides confidence outside of the jail.
Pasco County Jail also provides all inmates with a tablet that allows for improved contact with their family or other support outside of the jail through e-messages, video calls, and access to media for education and entertainment.
Phones are also provided in common areas that allow inmates to make outgoing calls to their family or friends through an account.
Currently all visits are video visits, currently daily 8:30am-11:30am, 12:30pm-5pm, and 7:30pm-10:30pm. The onsite visits are Monday – Thursday 8:30am-10am and 1pm-3:30pm, with the same hours on Saturday.
Mail is also encouraged, but it is sent to a third party where it is checked for contraband, scanned, and delivered to the tablets digitally.

• Any inmate or visitor whose behavior is disruptive during a visit may have his/her visiting privileges suspended/terminated.
• All visits are subject to monitoring and recording.
• All visits must be scheduled 6 hours prior to the appointment or up to 13 days in advance.
• You must check-in 15 minutes prior to the scheduled visit.
• Valid picture identification (e.g., driver's license, State I.D., or Military I.D. with picture) is required of all visitors, with the exception of children under the age of 17.
• Visitors under the age of 17 must be accompanied and supervised by an authorized adult visitor.
• Visitors who 'arrive' after the scheduled start time may not be allowed to visit.
• Clothing must cover all private/sensitive body areas.
• The visitation schedule may be canceled or altered on holidays or for safety/security reasons.
• Pasco County Jail can disconnect, deny, change, or cancel a visit at any time.
• Internet connectivity issues during offsite visits will NOT be refunded.
• Each visitation session will show a timer to display elapsed time.
• After your visit has ended your connection will be terminated automatically.

Postcards
The Pasco County Jail only allows inmates to receive correspondence on pre-metered postcards. These can be purchased at the post office, or you can purchase post cards and get them metered (stamped) by the post office when you mail them. Under no circumstances will envelopes be accepted.

You must include a complete return address in upper right corner of postcard. All addressing must be handwritten. Any address labels or stickers will cause the postcard to be rejected.
NOTE: When you take the postcards to the post office, let the clerk know they are going to a jail, correctional facility, etc. and must be pre-metered. This will tell them they need to stamp it on the machine and not put a regular stamp on it.
Newspapers
Inmates cannot receive newspapers by mail at this facility.
Magazines
News, special interest or sports magazines may also be mailed to an inmate as long as they are shipped directly from the publisher or a source online such as Amazon.com. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.
Books
This jail allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address above.
You may also have them sent directly from the publisher to the jail.
Books must be no larger than: 8 1/2″ x 11″ x 2 1/2″ in size
Books that contain the following will be returned to center and it will be up to the inmate to contact the source for a refund.
The following are also prohibited:
Nudity, Pornographic or Sexually explicit material
Instructions on how to construct or modify electronic equipment
Instructions for developing or constructing weapons or explosives
Anything that supports escape or provides instructions/ideas for escape
Any publication that encourages rioting
Materials advocating racial, religious or national hatred, or institutional violence
Anything that will threaten the safety of the public, staff or inmates
Hard cover books will not be accepted by the jail due to their potential to be used as a weapon.

The tablets can be rented on a daily basis and while not directly connected to the internet, the inmates can use them for many activities.
All inmates receive some free time on the tablets each day. Purchasing a Gold Pass allows inmates access to the tablet for an extended period of time without interruption. The current fee for a 24-hour rental is $4.99, however Pasco County Jail may have a monthly rental plan. The tablet should last 5-7 hours on a single charge. An inmate with a Gold Pass, may return the discharged tablet and take another one provided there is still time remaining on the Gold Pass.
