How Do You Find Someone in the St. Lucie County Jail?

To search the St. Lucie County Jail for an inmate and review their charges, bond, visitation eligibility, or mugshot, go to the Official Jail Inmate Roster. You can also call the jail at 772-462-3450 for assistance. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement keeps a wanted persons search that covers St. Lucie County, and many clerks of court share criminal case records online.

St. Lucie County Jail Inmate Search

In St. Lucie County and throughout Florida, most people charged with a crime can be released before trial on reasonable conditions, as the state constitution requires. Release can be denied for capital or life felonies when the proof is evident, or when no conditions would keep the community safe. Minor misdemeanors and traffic offenses often end with a notice to appear. Other bond amounts start from the Florida Supreme Court’s uniform statewide bond schedule.

You can find out an inmate’s bail by calling the St. Lucie County Jail at 772-462-3450. If you know the charge, the Florida uniform statewide bond schedule for 2026 shows the minimum bond. Each judicial circuit can require more, and some serious charges require a first appearance hearing before release. The county accepts cash, surety bonds, or property bonds, and may release some offenders on personal recognizance.

The St. Lucie County Jail is licensed for 1400 inmates at a time, but it often has to make room for many more offenders, especially on weekends. At most city and county jails in Florida, at least 35-40% of the inmate population turns over monthly. Another 25-30% turns over every 90 days and another 15-20% every six months, and approximately 8-9% stay six to twelve months. Inmates who remain longer than twelve months are usually facing serious charges such as rape or murder. Because those cases take longer to prepare for trial, offenders arrested in this county are held at one of the St. Lucie County facilities much longer.

Each year, St. Lucie County law enforcement agencies arrest and detain approximately 29,000 offenders.

About the St. Lucie County Jail

The St. Lucie County Jail, run by the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, is listed at 900 N. Rock Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34945, on the west side of Fort Pierce. The phone number listed for it is (772) 462-7300. It is the county’s only adult jail. It holds men and women awaiting trial and people serving county sentences of up to a year; anyone sentenced to more than a year goes to the Florida Department of Corrections. We could not reach the Sheriff’s detention pages while preparing this profile, so its capacity, programs, visitation rules, mail address and deposit vendor are not listed here. Call the jail or check the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office website for those details and for its inmate lookup.

After booking, the arrested person must see a judge at first appearance within 24 hours (Florida Rule of Criminal Procedure 3.130). St. Lucie County is part of Florida’s Nineteenth Judicial Circuit, along with Indian River, Martin and Okeechobee counties.

Under Article I, Section 14 of the Florida Constitution, most people are entitled to pretrial release on reasonable conditions. The exceptions are capital or life felonies where the proof is evident or the presumption great, and cases where no conditions can protect the community. Before first appearance, jail staff use the Florida Supreme Court’s 2026 uniform statewide bond schedule (AOSC25-69, effective January 1 through December 31, 2026). It sets minimum amounts, and the Nineteenth Circuit’s chief judge may set higher local ones. The first appearance judge is not bound by the schedule, and serious charges covered by sections 903.011, 903.046 and 907.041, Florida Statutes, require a judge’s decision before release. Minor misdemeanors often end with a notice to appear. To post bond, pay the full amount or hire a licensed bail bond agent. The state premium is 10% of the bond, according to the Florida Department of Financial Services. Ask the jail which payment methods it accepts for cash bonds.

Check FDLE’s statewide wanted persons search for warrants, and remember that not every warrant appears there. We could not confirm a bus route that serves Rock Road, so plan to drive. The closest fuel is at the truck stops on Kings Highway: Flying J Travel Center at 100 N Kings Hwy and Love’s Travel Stop at 200 S Kings Hwy, both open 24 hours. Hardee’s, also at 200 S Kings Hwy, and Chick-fil-A at 5560 Okeechobee Rd are the easiest places for a quick meal.
