Under Florida law, most defendants in Volusia County are entitled to pretrial release on reasonable conditions. The main exceptions are capital and life felonies when the proof is evident, and cases where a judge finds no conditions would keep the community safe. Many minor misdemeanors and traffic offenses result in a notice to appear. Most other bond amounts are set by the Florida Supreme Court’s uniform statewide bond schedule.

The facility is located in Daytona Beach, Volusia County, Florida and is supported by the Volusia County Division of Corrections. It is a direct supervision correctional facility on 1354 North Indian Lake Road, Daytona Beach, FL, 32124.
The Volusia County Correctional Facility, at 1354 Indian Lake Road, Daytona Beach, FL 32124, is the older of the county’s two jails. It sits next to the Branch Jail off U.S. 92 west of Interstate 95. The Volusia County Division of Corrections runs it, and its main phone is (386) 254-1565. It opened in 1977 with 595 beds and now has 680. It holds all women in county custody, men serving county sentences, and low- and medium-custody men who have not been sentenced. People sentenced to more than a year are transferred to the Florida Department of Corrections. The county’s inmate search shows which facility someone is in.
Much of Volusia’s program work reaches people serving time here. The Division offers GED tutoring, life skills, anger management, domestic violence education, parenting and career workshops, along with job training such as virtual welding, heavy equipment operation, construction and concrete work, horticulture, FDOT flagger certification, commercial landscaping and ServSafe food handling. About 2,345 inmates took part in 2024. Inmates who work have the $5 daily subsistence fee waived; the $30 booking fee still applies.
No one is booked at the Correctional Facility. Arrests are processed at the Branch Jail, where first appearance hearings are held within 24 hours as Florida Rule of Criminal Procedure 3.130 requires. Volusia is part of the Seventh Judicial Circuit. That circuit follows the Florida Supreme Court’s uniform statewide bond schedule for 2026 (AOSC25-69) for bonds set before first appearance. The schedule sets minimum amounts that a local chief judge can raise, and the first appearance judge can set a different bond. Some serious charges require a judge to decide release (sections 903.046 and 907.041, Florida Statutes). The Florida Constitution (Article I, Section 14) entitles most defendants to reasonable pretrial release, except for capital or life felonies with strong proof or when no conditions can protect the community, and minor misdemeanors often end with a notice to appear. Even if your loved one is housed here, bonds are posted at the Branch Jail at 1300 Red John Drive, in cash or through a licensed bail bond agent. Visitors to Correctional Facility inmates also go to the Video Visitation Building at 1300A Red John Drive. Visits are by video only and must be booked through ICSolutions (icsolutions.com or (888) 646-9437) by 9 p.m. the day before. Sessions run Tuesday–Saturday, afternoons from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. and evenings from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Bring photo ID with a date of birth if you’re 18 or older, and bring ID or a birth certificate for children, who must be with an adult. Up to two people and two small children can visit together. Dress modestly: no short-shorts, miniskirts, strapless or see-through clothing, spandex, low necklines, or mesh or muscle shirts.
