Send an Inmate Mail in the Bremer County Jail

Writing to an Inmate at the Bremer County Jail

Since January 1, 2026, the sheriff requires all personal mail for Bremer County inmates to go to Reliance's mail processing center, not to Waverly:

Bremer County Jail - IA
Inmate Name (First and Last name)
1533 S 42nd Street, Suite 200
Grand Forks, ND 58201

Reliance scans each item and sends it electronically to the tablet assigned to the inmate. Afterward the paper, photos and anything else in the envelope are destroyed and are not returned or reimbursed, so never send an original you want back. A personal letter sent to 4th Street NE instead comes back to you.

  • Use the inmate's full first and last name on the envelope and the letter.
  • Write your full name and complete return address as the sender.
  • Nothing larger than 8.5 inches wide by 14 inches tall is accepted.
  • No pictures that show sexually suggestive material or behavior.
  • Everything must also follow the existing Bremer County Jail mail rules; ask at 319-352-5400, option 2.
