In 2009, the 120,000 square foot jail was built to be able to handle up to 600 inmates as the need grows, but it may be decades before the need arises. The Wright County Jail is in very good shape for the growth to come.
Two different jail layouts were constructed: Direct supervision pods for non-violent, general population, and indirect supervision units for the more violent and harder to control inmates.

Staying at this jail is almost like having to stay at a cheap motel as they charge you for it: In February 2003, Wright County began charging $20 a day for inmate stays. In addition to the daily fee, they also charge a booking fee of $25 and for reimbursement of all medical costs incurred while in custody. And if you don't pay it goes on your credit file and gets turned over to a collection agency.

Magazines
News, special interest or sports magazines may also be mailed to an inmate as long as they are shipped directly from the publisher. Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.
Books
The Wright County Jail allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.
