Providing structure, supervision, security, and nurturing, the Union County Juvenile Detention Center provides a detention space for juveniles who are arrested within the county or who are assigned to detention by the court. Only youth who have been accused of delinquent acts will be taken to the facility, and a court will determine if they should remain detained until their future court dates or if they can remain at home. Only short term commitments are accepted at this facility, and any long term housing needs will be transferred to an alternative location. While residing in the facility all the needs of the residents are considered and supported including health, safety, social, psychological, and educational needs. Each resident will be provided with their own personalized program with the services that will benefit them the most, providing the best results in rehabilitation, learning opportunities, and care. Phones: Only approved contacts are permitted to receive calls, and only outgoing calls are allowed. Phones are provided to those who have phone privileges at least once a week and as often as every day. Visitation: Visits are allowed once each week with parents, guardians, or an adult sibling.
