About the Edmond City Jail
The jail that is present in Edmond City is separate and independent from the county jail that is a larger facility run by the county itself. The Edmond City Jail only serves the city of Edmond and is a privately owned and operated facility. This is the booking facility for the Edmond City Police and each arrest that is made within the city limits is processed at this center. During processing there will be a set of fingerprints taken, a photograph will be taken called a mug shot, and the details of the arrest and expected charges will all be entered into the criminal record of the arrestee. After this has been completed, they are able to make a phone call to a family member or a lawyer, to arrange for bail or for legal counsel. A cell is then assigned where they will remain until they either make bail or have completed their trial. For those who are serving a short sentence they may find they are able to serve the full sentence in the facility. Visiting hours are strictly enforced and are individual hours are available by calling the jail at 405-359-4420, as visiting hours are not published or provided to the general public beyond them being availalbe each day of the week, beginning at or after 9am and ending by 6pm. Visitors must be dressed according to the dress code that is presented. There are to be no discussions of illegal activities at a visit, and no contraband may be present. Access to the phones is provided each day and inmates can make outgoing phone calls for up to 30 minutes between the hours of 7am and 7:30pm.

How Do I Receive Phone Calls from an Inmate in the Edmond City Jail?

How Does an Inmate Make Phone Calls in Edmond City Jail?

To receive phone calls from an inmate in Oklahoma County follow these instructions:

Edmond City Jail uses the services of NCIC for inmate phone calling. It is called a ‘friends & family account”.

In order to receive phone calls from your inmate, you need to do the following:

  • Register here, or by phone 800-943-2189
  • Choose Oklahoma.
  • Choose Edmond City Jail
  • Select your Inmate.
  • Enter the phone number your Inmate will be calling.
  • Fund your Account. ($10-$100 at a time)

NOTE:
1.   You cannot receive any calls to your phone number from your inmate until both you and your phone number are registered.
2.  When you do receive a call, the number you will view on your phone from the incoming call is: 800-943-2189.
3.  When allowed by Edmond City Jail, families can also leave secure voicemails for inmates to listen to.
