The intended stay is for up to 30 days but may be as short as under 24 hours as a detention hearing will be held in the first two days of their arrival. Arrival at the facility will be followed by the intake process, including an assessment of the youth to provide a plan for what services will be needed, what grade in the school curriculum they are at, and what their housing assignment will be. Each day will follow a strict structure and schedule, providing discipline and maintaining safety within the secure facility that will include 3 healthy meals, snacks, school classes during the week, cleaning of their personal space and hygiene or personal care, recreation, and physical activity. Mental and medical health care are both provided to ensure the juveniles are cared for and prepared for their future within the community.
