All care and responsibility for the residents relies upon the staff, and they will observe the youth through cameras for security, interact with them to support positive social interactions and keep them on the strictly scheduled routine that is in place, healthy meals are provided along with snacks, and a medical staff care for all medical needs both ongoing and illness or injury as they occur. Mental health professionals provide counseling in both group and private settings, and in some situations may provide family counseling to encourage reunification as well. Learning opportunities occur for life skills such as household management, selfcare, job searches, and more and social skills will develop and improve. The goals of juvenile detention are to provide rehabilitative services and provide tools for a successful future, providing support for learning improved decision making and managing anger or other emotions in a way that is beneficial to the individual.
