The 35,000 square foot, 64 bed Bosque County Jail, located in Bosque County, Texas, is a correctional facility that serves as the primary detention center for the county. The jail is a modern facility designed to accommodate inmate needs while ensuring secure confinement. It houses a total of 64 beds, providing ample capacity for the incarceration of individuals awaiting trial or serving short-term sentences.

Recently constructed, and including a new central operations for the Sheriff's Office, a 911 Center, as well as the booking, holding and intoxification tank, the jail is a welcome addition, as the older jail was in complete disrepair.

One of the unique features of the Bosque County Jail is its emphasis on rehabilitation and inmate programs. The facility offers a range of educational and vocational programs aimed at helping inmates develop essential skills and prepare for successful reintegration into society. These programs include GED classes, substance abuse counseling, life skills training, and vocational training opportunities such as carpentry or culinary arts. By providing these resources, the jail strives to reduce recidivism rates and promote positive changes in inmates' lives.

While the Bosque County Jail has made efforts to provide a supportive environment for inmates, it has faced some challenges and problems over the years. One recurring issue reported is overcrowding, as the jail sometimes exceeds its designated capacity. This overcrowding can strain resources and affect the quality of services provided to inmates. Additionally, there have been occasional concerns raised about the availability of mental health services and the need for improved medical care within the facility. The county authorities continue to address these issues to ensure the safety and well-being of both inmates and staff members.

Inmate Money Accounts

How Do You Deposit Money for an Inmate in the Bosque County Jail?

There are FOUR options for putting money on an inmate's books:

Option 1 - Dropping Money at the Jail
Bring money to the jail in person.
Either the jail personnel will process the Inmate Account payment or you will use a Jail ATM self-serve kiosk in the lobbies that accepts cash, debit or credit cards.

Option 2 - Deposit Inmate Money Online
Bosque County Jail uses Jail ATM to process all online deposits to an inmate's account. The company charges you a small fee for doing so, but the fee probably isn't as much as gas and parking would cost to take it to the jail in person.

Option 3 - Mail the Inmate Deposit to the Jail
Mailing a deposit takes more time to process than the other methods but can be done if you live too far away to bring it in person and you don't have a debit/credit card for online deposits. Never send cash. Always send a Money Order from the US Post Office, a reputable bank or Western Union. Call the Bosque County Jail first as they may want you to do this online or at the jail kiosk instead.
Make the Money Order out to the inmate's name and put their Inmate ID# in memo section of the Money Order.
