The Kleberg County Detention Center, in addition to housing offenders arrested in this county, also houses inmates from other counties whose jails are full. The detention center, located on E. King Ave., is just down the street less than one-quarter mile from the Route 77 overpass, and the Executive Inn and the Super 8 Motels.

Inmates at this jail are offenders who have been arrested in Kleberg County that were recently charged with a felony or misdemeanor, are awaiting trial, or have been found guilty for their crime(s) and have been sentenced to one year or less.
