The 350 bed Orange County Correctional Facility, built in 1995, is one of the few county jails in rural Texas that has more beds than it does inmates.  On any given day, they have up to 100 empty beds.

The tan brick, 3-story Orange County Correctional Facility is located at 105 S. Border St, Orange, TX 77630, at the corner of W. Division, and can be reached 24 hourts a day by calling 409-883-2612. A separate building on W. Division Street houses the county probation office.

The facility is designed to accommodate pre-trial detainees, individuals convicted of crimes sentenced to county jail, and those awaiting transfer into the Texas Prison System. The Orange County Correctional Facility allows books to be mailed directly to the jail from a reputable source such as AmazonBarnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. You can order them directly from your computer and have them shipped to the inmate at the address noted.

Orange County Correctional Facility allows inmates access to tablets to use for the services provided by 'gettingout'.


The devices are similar to common handheld tablets, but are made exclusively by GettingOut, a GTL / Viapath company.
Tablets offer specialized content and services for inmates to use during their stay at Orange County Correctional Facility, such as:

How Inmates Can Use a Tablet to Access Services at Orange County Correctional Facility
