About the Rockingham/Harrisonburg Regional Jail
Rockingham County and the City of Harrisonburg are served by the regional jail that is under the jurisdiction of the local sheriff. Along with maintaining the laws in the county and serving all active warrants, the sheriff office staffs and manages the daily operation of the jail. The facility meets or exceeds all safety and training standards that are required and provides all necessities for each inmate while treating each with respect and humanity. It has been shown that the mental health of inmates, and in turn the safety within the jail for other inmates, are improved when they maintain relationships and contact with loved ones during their incarceration. It can also be helpful to the families to see their loved ones periodically and to receive phone calls assuring them of their safety. To facilitate these inmates will have access to phones through the paytel.com system, and friends or family can add money to their account at that site in order to provide access to phone calls. Inmates are not permitted to receive incoming phone calls. Mail can also be sent and received, and there is no limit on how much mail an inmate can exchange provided it meets all the requirements and contains no contraband. Mail can be sent to the Rockingham/Harrisonburg Regional Jail, include the inmates full name and ID number at Facility ID #5168, PO Box 18247 Greensboro, NC 27419.
