Those who will remain in jail are searched and all their personal items are logged and stored for their release, fingerprints and photographs are taken, and they will be assigned to an initial housing unit after their medical and mental health screenings are completed. They will be permitted to make two phone calls to either friends or family or to a lawyer to arrange bail or seek legal representation.
After an inmate has been assigned to their housing unit they will have access to phones to call their loved ones and they will be prepared for visitation soon after. Inmates may receive mail that is sent through the US Postal Service that has both a first and last name with full return address, are no larger than and A4 sheet of paper, and they must meet the restrictions set forth by the facility. For those who are accessing video on demand the gettingout.com website allows for an account to be made that will allow the inmate to begin visits or calls on their own schedule and when they have time, without previously planning or during times that they and the visitor have agreed too previously. Work Release inmates will have visits and phone calls available to them around their work schedule, and will be permitted to leave the facility only for the duration of their work day and reasonable time to travel to the worksite and back to the jail.
