Searcy County Jail
Searcy County Jail
The 30-bed Searcy County Jail offers inmate information over the phone 24 hours a day at 870-448-2340.
This facility is the first stop for people arrested in the county on misdemeanor and felony charges. Everyone goes through booking and processing, and those who are held stay until they are bonded out, released on their own recognizance, or until their trial is finished.
You can search for current inmates using the inmate search tool.
Inmates sentenced to less than one year serve out their time at this jail. Inmates sentenced to longer terms are transferred to the Arkansas State Prison System or the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
This page tells you how to search the official jail roster, reach the facility, and use services like visitation, inmate account funding, mail, phone calls, voicemail, email and texting, tablet rentals, bail bonds, and commissary.
The inmate’s jail ID or booking number is required for many services, so save it. If it’s not online, call Searcy County Jail at 870-448-2340.

The Searcy County Jail is licensed for 30 inmates, but on weekends especially, the jail often has to make room for many more offenders. Most city and county jails in Arkansas turn over at least 40% of their population monthly, another 30% every 90 days, and another 20% every six months, with about 8-9% staying between six and twelve months. Those who remain longer than a year are generally facing serious charges like rape or murder. Because it takes time to prepare those cases for trial, offenders arrested in Searcy County must stay in custody at one of the Searcy County facilities much longer.
Arkansas’s constitution gives everyone charged with a crime the right to bail before trial, except in capital cases where the proof is evident or the presumption is great. Judges in Searcy County can set bail for any other offense, or release the defendant on their own recognizance or with conditions.
Searcy County law enforcement agencies arrest and detain approximately 600 offenders every year.
Searcy County is one of Arkansas’s smallest counties, and its jail is small too, with room for about 30 people. The Searcy County Sheriff’s Office runs it from 301 Factory Road in Marshall and answers its phone 24 hours a day at (870) 448-2340. The jail holds people arrested in the county on misdemeanor and felony charges while their cases are pending, as well as people serving short local sentences.
The sheriff’s office puts its jail roster on the RPS/Inmate app for phones and tablets, which you can download free from the App Store or Google Play. You can also call the number above. Felony cases can be followed on Search ARCourts. For a misdemeanor case, call Searcy County District Court at (870) 448-5411, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Arkansas VINE, at 1-800-510-0415, will notify you when a person is released or transferred.
Someone who is arrested and kept in jail should see a judge without unnecessary delay, generally within 48 hours (Arkansas Rule of Criminal Procedure 8.1). The Arkansas Constitution makes everyone bailable before conviction except in capital cases where the proof is evident or the presumption great. Rules 9.1–9.2 tell judges to consider release on recognizance or with conditions before setting money bail. A bondsman’s fee is set by law at 10% of the bond, rounded up to the nearest $5, plus small state fees, and it is due before release. Call the jail to confirm a bond amount and how it can be paid.
Write to someone at the jail using the sheriff’s mailing address:

No public bus serves the jail; most visitors drive. Along U.S. 65 in Marshall, you can get gas at the Shell at 915 US-65 and the Exxon at 804 US-65. Daisy Queen at 614 US-65 and Sonic Drive-In at 919 US-65 are easy stops for food.
