Brevard County Jail Inmate Search
Brevard County Jail Complex: a Space Coast family guide
From Titusville down to Palm Bay, adult arrests in Brevard are booked at one place, the jail complex on Camp Road in Cocoa. Check Brevard County Inmate Search or phone 321-690-1500. More is in our court process guide.
1. Where do Brevard arrests get booked?
Titusville, Melbourne, Palm Bay and deputies all deliver adults to the Brevard County Jail Complex, 860 Camp Road, Cocoa, FL 32927, near Interstate 95 and State Road 528. The jail line is 321-690-1500. Call the Brevard County Sheriff's Office at 321-264-5100 for anything else.
Back to questions ↑2. Using the Brevard roster
Type a last name into Brevard County Inmate Search to see charges, bond and booking time. Sign up with VINELink for an alert the moment Camp Road releases or moves them.
Back to questions ↑3. Bond and first appearance in Brevard
Brevard is in the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit. A judge holds first appearance inside 24 hours, often by camera from the jail. Release can come several ways:
- ROR, where the judge trusts the defendant to return.
- Cash: post the whole figure; the clerk refunds what's left once the case closes.
- Surety: a licensed bondsman charges a 10 percent fee, never under $100 per count, and keeps it.
Posting bond won't free someone wanted elsewhere or accused of breaking probation. A missed hearing means a new warrant. See our Brevard bail page.
Back to questions ↑4. Does a Melbourne or Palm Bay warrant arrest go to Camp Road?
It does. Whether the stop happens in Melbourne, Palm Bay or Cocoa Beach, a warrant arrest leads to the Camp Road complex in Cocoa. Call the Sheriff's Office at 321-264-5100 to confirm who is inside. Before you dial, the offender and warrant search and the clerk's public case search can each answer part of the question. Warrants from beyond the county appear in FDLE's statewide wanted listing. If a Brevard warrant names you, hire defense counsel to plan your surrender, and the Viera clerk can move the hearing.
Back to questions ↑5. A public defender for Brevard cases
The Eighteenth Circuit Public Defender steps in when a Brevard judge rules the defendant too poor to hire counsel. Applying costs $50 under Florida law, and a judge may waive that.
Back to questions ↑6. Seeing an inmate at Camp Road
Visits must be booked, and video sessions are common. Confirm the current schedule at 321-690-1500. Our guides cover in-person rules and video visiting.
Back to questions ↑7. Phones and electronic messages
Inmates dial out; no one can call in to them. A prepaid account covers the charges. Read about calls, messaging and tablets.
Back to questions ↑8. Sending money
Deposits pay for commissary items like ramen, soap and writing paper. Use a method the complex lists as approved. See how to deposit and commissary details.
Back to questions ↑9. Mail to Cocoa
Write the inmate's name and booking number, then 860 Camp Road. Leave off glitter, stickers and anything scented. Our mail page has more.
Back to questions ↑10. When a Brevard teen is arrested
Kids under 18 go through juvenile court. A youth ordered held is usually taken to the Brevard Juvenile Detention Center, 321-690-3400, with a hearing inside 24 hours. Parents can call 321-264-5100 to learn where a child went.
Back to questions ↑11. Health and medicine
Call 321-690-1500 about conditions such as epilepsy, insulin-dependent diabetes or heart trouble, or suicidal thoughts. Keep drug names and doses ready.
Back to questions ↑12. Brevard federal arrests
Federal crimes in Brevard move to the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, Orlando division, 401 W. Central Blvd., Orlando, FL 32801.
First comes a magistrate judge's initial appearance. Whether the defendant stays locked up is set at a detention hearing; no bail table exists. The U.S. Marshals in Orlando (407-861-5700) often rent county jail beds for federal prisoners. Once sentenced, look on the BOP site.
Back to questions ↑13. How an ICE hold works in Brevard
- Camp Road fingerprints are run through DHS records during booking.
- ICE can then lodge an I-247A detainer.
- Brevard may keep the person awaiting ICE transport up to 48 hours after they would otherwise be released (8 CFR 287.7(d)).
- Under F.S. 908.105, the judge setting bond is told, the detainer joins the court record, and prosecutors receive notice.
- Under F.S. 907.041, a forcible-felony arrestee who is an unauthorized alien stays in until first appearance; the court then presumes detention, though the defense can rebut it.
- Under F.S. 908.11, sheriffs who run jails must join 287(g). ICE shows Brevard as Task Force Model and Warrant Service Officer.
- Families can type an A-number into ICE's locator or dial the Miami field office, 2805 SW 145th Ave., Miramar, FL 33027, 954-843-5800.
14. Leaving Cocoa for state prison
After a prison sentence, the person stays at Camp Road until FDC sends transport. A reception center then handles health screening and decides the permanent prison. Brevard families can watch the move on the FDC site; prison addresses are on this list.
Back to questions ↑15. Brevard mugshots online
Yes. In the Brevard inmate search, open a person's record and their mugshot shows there; the results list itself has none. For a copy, ask the sheriff's office at 321-264-5100.
For an ICE photo, file ICE's FOIA form. Federal booking photos stay closed unless the Marshals publish one while chasing a fugitive.
