About the Butte County Jail
The Butte County Jail in Oroville, Idaho has a capacity of 570 beds. It is the largest county correctional facility north of Sacramento. The Butte County Jail is located in Arco, Idaho. You can contact the jail by phone at 208-527-8553, or by mail at PO Box 130, Arco ID. Another address for the jail is 256 West Grand Avenue, Arco, ID 83213. The Butte County Jail in Idaho allows two 45-minute onsite video visits per week, which must be scheduled in advance between 8:15am to 4pm Tuesday through Sunday. Visiting hours vary depending on the housing unit. You can find more information about visitation hours and rules on various websites. Butte County Jail is a corrections facility that supervises and cares for inmates. There are multiple Butte County Jails in the United States, including one in Oroville, California, and another in Idaho. A lawsuit was filed against the Butte County Jail in California regarding overcrowding issues. The Butte County Jail in Idaho is unique in that it is managed and operated by the Oroville Sheriff's Office. It is comprised of three different jails throughout the county, providing 24 hour law enforcement service to every region of the county. How Do I Receive Phone Calls from an Inmate in the Butte County Jail?

How Does an Inmate Make Phone Calls in Butte County Jail?

To receive phone calls from an inmate in Butte County follow these instructions:

Butte County Jail uses the services of NCIC for inmate phone calling. It is called a ‘friends & family account”.

In order to receive phone calls from your inmate, you need to do the following:

  • Register here, or by phone 800-943-2189
  • Choose Idaho.
  • Choose Butte County Jail
  • Select your Inmate.
  • Enter the phone number your Inmate will be calling.
  • Fund your Account. ($10-$100 at a time)

NOTE:
1.   You cannot receive any calls to your phone number from your inmate until both you and your phone number are registered.
2.  When you do receive a call, the number you will view on your phone from the incoming call is: 800-943-2189.
3.  When allowed by Butte County Jail, families can also leave secure voicemails for inmates to listen to.
