About the Twin Falls County Detention Facility

The Twin Falls County Detention Facility in Idaho has a capacity of 224 inmates. However, in January 2021, an addition was completed that added 90 beds to the existing facility. Phone number: (208) 734-9090.

The Twin Falls County Detention Facility in Idaho allows visitation from Monday to Sunday. The visiting hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Inmates at the facility are allowed two 45-minute onsite video visits each week, which must be scheduled in advance. Each inmate is allowed one or two visits per week, ranging from 15 minutes to one hour in length.

According to a news report, inmates at the Twin Falls County Jail in Idaho have complained about conditions such as not having enough beds, mold on mattresses, and inadequate space to eat. The Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office has developed policies and procedures to reduce the risk of in-custody sexual assaults. A legal case from 2021 suggests that the plaintiff was complaining about county jail conditions rather than state prison conditions. In 2018, it was reported that the jail was facing a crisis due to an increase in felony cases. The ICE conducts inspections of the facility and shares its findings with the facility administrator to promote improvements to facility operations or conditions of confinement.
