About the Eddy County Detention Center
Located at 201 N Main in Carlsbad, NM, the Eddy County Detention Center is the main housing facility for those who are incarcerated within the county, including transfers from small towns and cities that do not have dedicated holding facilities or that have small holding facilities and no long term cells. It provides for all of the needs of inmates during their stay including nutritional meals, recreation and exercise, laundry including bedding and clothing, and access to a commissary account. All of the visits are currently being completed via video calls, and this allows for people who are unable to travel to the facility to still access visits and calls, while providing increased flexibility to the inmates on when they can have visits. Each visit is 20 minutes long and they can occur anytime between the hours of 7pm and 9pm for those who need to access the kiosk within the jail, and from 9am until 11pm each day of the week for those who are accessing online visits. This program is supplied through securustech.net, and money can be added to that account to access phone and video calls. Monday can also be added through accesscorrections.com or through securutech.net for phones. There is a nurse on site for any medical needs as well, and dental visits are provided.
