About the Hidalgo County Jail & Detention Center
Lordsburg, New Mexico is the home of the Hidalgo County Detention Center. The center is well maintained and cleaned, with the goal of providing a safe housing location for all inmates facing any charges, and to protect the community by ensuring all sentences are served appropriately and as provided. Contraband is checked for strictly with any incoming mail, when new detainees are processed, and from any visitors who enter the facility. All contraband can be destroyed. To make depositing funds, paying bail, and ordering commissary packs easy the jailatm.com website supports each of these. Video visits and phone calls with inmates are also provided through jailatm.com, and the visiting hours that are available for the inmate will be provided once the account has been made for the visitor and they have been confirmed. Commissary packages can be purchased each week and will be delivered to the intended inmate. Detainees at this location may be waiting for their bail, waiting for their sentence, or they may be serving their sentence. Some inmates may be given the opportunity to perform work tasks within the facility, or even within the community, as a way to earn money for themselves and their families, which will also result in improved chances of finding employment upon their release.

Inmate Money Accounts

How Do You Deposit Money for an Inmate in the Hidalgo County Jail & Detention Center?

There are FOUR options for putting money on an inmate's books:

Option 1 - Dropping Money at the Jail
Bring money to the jail in person.
Either the jail personnel will process the Inmate Account payment or you will use a Jail ATM self-serve kiosk in the lobbies that accepts cash, debit or credit cards.

Option 2 - Deposit Inmate Money Online
Hidalgo County Jail & Detention Center uses Jail ATM to process all online deposits to an inmate's account. The company charges you a small fee for doing so, but the fee probably isn't as much as gas and parking would cost to take it to the jail in person.

Option 3 - Mail the Inmate Deposit to the Jail
Mailing a deposit takes more time to process than the other methods but can be done if you live too far away to bring it in person and you don't have a debit/credit card for online deposits. Never send cash. Always send a Money Order from the US Post Office, a reputable bank or Western Union. Call the Hidalgo County Jail & Detention Center first as they may want you to do this online or at the jail kiosk instead.
Make the Money Order out to the inmate's name and put their Inmate ID# in memo section of the Money Order.
83 Old Hwy 70
PO Box 339
Lordsburg, NM 88045

Option 4 - Make an Inmate Deposit with Jail ATM over the Phone by calling 877-810-0914
