Inmates at the Muskingum County Juvenile Detention Center, now that the COVID pandemic is waning, once again allows inmates to get visits from friends and loved ones. Visits are either on-site (no contact) at the facility, and/or using the video services of the third party company outlined below.
Call 740-455-7133 for inmate communication updates as schedules can change without much advance notice.
Muskingum County Juvenile Detention Center inmates are allowed one to two visits of 30 minutes each at the facility, and potentially no limit on the number of visits when using the home based video visitation service.
Rules, guidelines and schedules are listed on this page. Failure to adhere to them will result in your inmate and you losing your visitation privileges.

Video Visitation Rules
Understanding the rules completely are the responsibility of both you and your inmate. Not knowing the rules will NOT be accepted as an excuse if you make a mistake and violate them. Disobeying them could result in being banned from have future visits.
• Any inmate or visitor whose behavior is disruptive during a visit may have his/her visiting privileges suspended/terminated.
• All visits are subject to monitoring and recording.
• All visits must be scheduled 6 hours prior to the appointment or up to 13 days in advance.
• You must check-in 15 minutes prior to the scheduled visit.
• Valid picture identification (e.g., driver's license, State I.D., or Military I.D. with picture) is required of all visitors, with the exception of children under the age of 17.
• Visitors under the age of 17 must be accompanied and supervised by an authorized adult visitor.
• Visitors who 'arrive' after the scheduled start time may not be allowed to visit.
• Clothing must cover all private/sensitive body areas.
• The visitation schedule may be canceled or altered on holidays or for safety/security reasons.
• Muskingum County Juvenile Detention Center can disconnect, deny, change, or cancel a visit at any time.
• Internet connectivity issues during offsite visits will NOT be refunded.
• Each visitation session will show a timer to display elapsed time.
• After your visit has ended your connection will be terminated automatically.

When registering with IC Solutions for Remote Video Visitation, all of the required fields must be completed. You as the visitor must define the inmate you want to visit and you must also define your relationship to your inmate. Visitors will only be able to visit with an inmate who is on your approved inmate list.

Who can Visit an Inmate at Muskingum County Juvenile Detention Center
Anyone over the age of 18, who isn't on felony probation and can produce a valid government-issued photo ID can be approved to visit an inmate in this jail.
Visitation applicants for Muskingum County Juvenile Detention Center must sometimes submit to a background check. Those with warrants are denied visitation or if allowed to visit, will be arrested at the jail.
Children under age 18 must be accompanied by the parent or legal guardian.

The best way to be sure the visit takes place is to dress as if you are meeting someone's grandmother for the first time.
Remote Video visitation is no different. If you are not dressed discretely, your visit will be terminated. Future visits could also be affected.

Jail visits are conducted in person behind plexi-glass or remotely, either from home or on-site at Muskingum County Juvenile Detention Center.
All video visits are both monitored in real time and are recorded. Whatever you talk about, can and will be used against your inmate in court. Never discuss their pending criminal case!
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and guardians must provide proof of their guardianship.
If you are visiting on-site at the jail, leave all personal belongings (including your phone), except for your state ID, in your vehicle or in a locker (if one is provided).
At the jail, children must be monitored at all times or jail staff will end the visit early.
