Muskogee County Juvenile Inmate Search
Muskogee County Inmate Search: Who Is Held on South 3rd Street
Adults booked anywhere in this county are brought to the Muskogee County Jail, 122 South 3rd Street, Muskogee, OK 74401. The Sheriff runs it. Below are the roster, video visits, the Texas letter box, deposits, charges, warrants, federal and ICE custody, and each police agency.
Begin with the Sheriff's inmate roster. Current inmates appear in booking-date order, latest on top, with the date and the charges beside each name. The Sheriff describes it as updated hourly. For someone already released or moved, the roster itself points you to VINE.
Still unsure? Ring the jail at 918-682-7851. With a legal name and birth date in hand, ask for the SO#, the charges and the bond. Our bail page deals with release, while our court guide walks through each hearing.
1. Steps for the Muskogee County roster search
- Pull up the Sheriff's inmate roster in any web browser.
- Scroll or search for the last name. The list runs by booking date, so a brand-new arrest sits near the top.
- Tap the name to open the booking record. Expect sex, race, ethnicity, age, residing city, Inmate ID and the charge list.
- Note the Inmate ID. The mail rules call that same number the SO#, and letters and deposits both use it.
- If the page looks empty or shows an update notice, wait a little and reload, or call the jail at 918-682-7851.
Bond amounts and court dates come from other offices. Ask jail staff about bond, and the Court Clerk at 918-682-7873 about hearings.
↑ Back to the question list2. No match on the roster yet
A missing name rarely means trouble. Check these causes one by one:
- Booking takes time. Fingerprints, a property list and intake forms all happen before the entry posts. Check back in a few hours.
- Already out. The roster lists only people held right now. Try VINELink for a release or transfer.
- Spelling. Try a maiden name, a nickname, or only the first few letters of the last name.
- Another agency. A city arrest, a federal case or a tribal case can lead to a different lockup. Ask the jail at 918-682-7851 which agency made the arrest.
- Wrong Haskell. The town of Haskell sits in this county. Haskell County, with its jail in Stigler, is a different place.
The Sheriff's Office at 220 State Street, Muskogee, OK 74401, 918-687-0202, can also check its records.
↑ Back to the question list3. Could a jail near Muskogee County be holding them?
Trooper stops on a highway near the edge of the county, or arrests by an outside agency, can send someone next door. These neighboring jails each keep their own roster:
- Wagoner County Jail, 307 E. Cherokee St., Wagoner, OK 74467, 918-485-7730
- Cherokee County Detention Center, 1513 N. Douglas, Tahlequah, OK 74464, Sheriff 918-456-2583
- Sequoyah County Jail, 119 South Oak Street, Sallisaw, OK 74955, 918-775-9155
- Haskell County Jail, 1304 East Industrial St., Stigler, OK 74462, 918-967-2400
- McIntosh County Jail, 1425 Industrial Dr, Eufaula, OK 74432, 918-689-2526
- Okmulgee County Jail, 315 West 8th Street, Okmulgee, OK 74447. A county criminal justice authority operates it. Sheriff: 918-756-4311
Federal prisoners may pass through the Federal Transfer Center, 7410 S. MacArthur Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73169, 405-682-4075. For a Cherokee Nation arrest, the Nation's Justice Services office handles contracted jail space: P.O. Box 948, Tahlequah, OK 74465, 918-453-5610.
↑ Back to the question list4. Are booking photos on the Muskogee County roster?
The roster centers on names, booking dates, ID numbers and charges. If you want a copy of a mugshot, start with the Sheriff's records staff at 918-687-0202.
- Under 51 O.S. § 24A.8, a Sheriff's Office must let the public see core arrest records it keeps. That covers the arrestee's name, birth date, address, race and sex, plus a physical description. The arrest reason, the arresting officer's name and jail booking logs are open as well.
- Booking pictures go unnamed in that statute, so the Sheriff's Office decides how to handle a photo request.
- News outlets ask the Sheriff's Office for photos the same way.
- For a photo in ICE files, file an ICE records request.
- Federal agencies generally keep booking photos private. A fugitive hunt is one time the Marshals may release a picture.
5. Signing up for VINE custody notices
The Sheriff's roster itself sends families to VINE for release and transfer news. VINE is Oklahoma's custody tracking and notice system, hosted by the Attorney General's victim services unit.
- Look the name up on VINELink for the current holding place and custody status.
- Register for notices. VINE reports moves to another facility, escapes, arrests after an escape, releases and deaths.
- By phone, VINE answers at 877-654-8463.
- Prison intake brings a new DOC number. Repeat the VINE sign-up under that new number.
6. Bond and release after this arrest
Oklahoma's Constitution makes nearly every arrest bailable (Okla. Const. art. II § 8). A District Court judge sets the amount. A short list of grave charges, violent crimes and life-sentence offenses among them, can mean no bail after a hearing.
- On a second or later DUI, HB 1222 (November 2025) holds the person until a judge grants bail.
- Families either pay the whole amount in cash or hire a licensed bondsman, whose fee is earned once the person walks out.
- Ask the jail at 918-682-7851 for the amount and any other holds before you pay.
- The Court Clerk, 200 State Street, 2nd Floor, Muskogee, OK 74401, 918-682-7873, keeps the case file.
Every bond type, bondsman rule and refund step is on our bond and release page.
↑ Back to the question list7. What the jail lists as the charge
Open the booking record on the roster. Each charge the jail logged appears there. These are the arrest counts; once prosecutors review the file, the formal charges may change.
- After filing, the case appears on Oklahoma District Court Records, which the county's clerk page links.
- Ask the Court Clerk at 918-682-7873 for the case number and the exact charges.
- A person may also face charges from a town court or a federal court. Each keeps its own file.
- McGirt v. Oklahoma (2020) matters here. Tribal enrollment plus a reservation address for the event can shift the file from State Street to a tribal or federal bench.
8. Getting appointed counsel from a jail cell
A person without money for counsel applies for an appointed lawyer. Approval is the judge's call (22 O.S. § 1355A).
- A detainee can request the appointed-lawyer form from any 3rd Street officer.
- The form goes to the Court Clerk, 200 State Street, 2nd Floor, Muskogee, OK 74401, 918-682-7873.
- A $40 Court Fund fee applies. If cash is short, ask that the fee be deferred to the case's end.
- If approved, a contract lawyer with the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System takes the case. The local contract office: P.O. Box 791, Muskogee, OK 74402, 918-683-4445.
Federal defendants may instead get the Federal Public Defender, 112 North 7th Street, Muskogee, OK 74401, 918-687-2430.
↑ Back to the question list9. Video visits at the Muskogee County Jail
Family and friends see the person by online video only. The jail offers no in-person visits for them, and personal visitors should not come to the building to visit.
- Make an account with the jail's communications company through the link on our visitation page.
- Follow that company's steps to book a time.
- Join from home on a phone, tablet or computer.
- Lawyers and other approved professionals may visit in person. They should call the jail at 918-682-7851 to set it up and learn the ID rules.
- The jail can limit visits for safety or discipline.
- Oklahoma's jail standards require a parent or legal guardian with any child visitor.
10. Deposits: kiosk, online or money order
The jail takes deposits three ways:
- Lobby kiosk. At the jail, 122 South 3rd Street, Muskogee, OK 74401. It takes cash or a credit card.
- Online. Use the website run by the jail's commissary company. Our money deposit page explains the steps.
- Money order by mail. Write the person's name on it. Call the jail at 918-682-7851 to confirm the mailing address first. A money order sent to the Longview, Texas letter box comes back.
The weekly store order closes at Wednesday night lockdown. Items normally show up Friday, or one business day later in a holiday week. Our commissary page covers how the store works.
↑ Back to the question list11. Calls and electronic messages
Oklahoma's jail rules promise at least two calls after booking. They can be local or collect. That first call may come collect.
- Calls. For how to set up a phone account and when calls can be made, ask the jail at 918-682-7851. Our jail phone page explains how these accounts usually work.
- Electronic messages. Each text-style message costs $0.25. A picture message or a document costs $0.35. People read them on kiosks inside the jail.
- Email-style messages. See our inmate messaging page for the general steps.
Treat every call, message and video visit as if others may hear it. Never talk about the case.
↑ Back to the question list12. Sending letters to the Longview scanning address
Regular letters changed on September 24, 2026. They now go to an out-of-state scanning box in Longview, and the jail returns anything sent straight to it. Address them like this:
- Inmate's full name
- SO# (the jail's booking number)
- Muskogee County Jail
- PO Box 591, Longview, TX 75606
Keep each letter on paper up to 8.5 x 11 inches, five pages or fewer, one side only. Add one photo at most and a complete return address. After scanning, the paper original is destroyed.
Legal and medical mail goes to the jail itself: name, SO#, Muskogee County Jail, 122 S. 3rd St., Muskogee, OK 74401. Never send it to Longview. Magazines, newspapers and books also go to the jail address, because the Texas box turns them away. State rules let staff open a lawyer's or court's letter only while the inmate watches. See our jail mail page for more.
↑ Back to the question list13. Picking up property they had at booking
Items taken at booking are listed and stored. OAC 310:670-5-1 says those items come back at release, checked off the inventory and signed for by the person.
- Fetching things for a person who remains in custody? Phone the jail at 918-682-7851 and ask what written okay is needed.
- Bring a photo ID.
- Ask how money left on the jail account is returned at release.
14. Health care, injuries and medicine in jail
Jails in this state owe inmates "Adequate medical care" (74 O.S. § 192). The state's jail standards spell out these steps:
- A health screening at booking, right away.
- Instructions on getting care, given to every new inmate.
- Once a request is put in writing, it must lead to a visit by licensed medical staff inside 48 hours, sooner for urgent needs.
Call the jail at 918-682-7851 to share a health problem or medicine list. Staff can't always share details back. For a concern about jail conditions, the state's jail inspectors are at the Oklahoma State Department of Health Detention Program, 123 Robert S. Kerr Ave., Suite 1702, Oklahoma City, OK 73102, 405-426-8170.
↑ Back to the question list15. Warrant checks around Muskogee
Deputies serve county warrants. Tips and questions go to the Sheriff's Office, 918-687-0202. Wanted pages: county (Sheriff), state (Attorney General, plus DOC escape alerts) and national (U.S. Marshals). A judge's warrant also sits in the case file on Oklahoma District Court Records. The safe fix: hire or request counsel, and surrender together at the jail, 122 South 3rd Street, Muskogee, OK 74401. Calling the issuing court about a new date can also work. District Court Clerk: 200 State Street, 2nd Floor, Muskogee, OK 74401, 918-682-7873.
↑ Back to the question list16. Next court date for a Muskogee case
- Type the name into Oklahoma District Court Records and open the case to see hearing dates.
- Call the Court Clerk at 918-682-7873, weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., to confirm.
- For a Fort Gibson ticket, call the town office at 918-478-3551. Haskell posts its town court dates on its court page.
- Federal hearings are set by the clerk at 101 North 5th Street, Room 208, Muskogee, OK 74401, 918-684-7920.
Our court guide explains each hearing, from arraignment to sentencing.
↑ Back to the question list17. Someone held on a U.S. charge
- Call the U.S. Marshals for the Eastern District at 539-239-5500. Their office is at 101 North 5th Street, Suite 136, Muskogee, OK 74401.
- Ask whether the person is lodged in the county jail under the Marshals' housing agreement, or at another site.
- Expect a detention hearing early in the case, where a federal judge decides on release (18 U.S.C. 3142).
- After sentencing, search the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator by name.
The federal court is the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, 101 North 5th Street, Room 208, Muskogee, OK 74401. People moving between federal sites may stop at the Federal Transfer Center, 7410 S. MacArthur Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73169.
↑ Back to the question list18. When immigration agents take custody
- ICE delivers the detainer paperwork, Form I-247A, to the 3rd Street jail.
- That request allows a hold of up to 48 hours after they would otherwise be released (8 CFR 287.7(d)).
- ICE then takes custody. Its Dallas Field Office oversees Oklahoma from 8101 N. Stemmons Frwy, Dallas, TX 75247, 972-367-2200. A state office sits at 1220 Sovereign Row, Oklahoma City, OK 73108, 405-219-3199.
- Many people ICE holds in this state end up at the Cimarron Correctional Facility, 3200 S. Kings Hwy., Cushing, OK 74023. Its detainee information line, 918-225-3336, runs 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Callers should know the A-number, the birth date and birth country, and every name the person has used.
- Search the ICE Online Detainee Locator.
Oklahoma made its own immigration crime law, HB 4156 (21 O.S. § 1795). For now a federal court has it on hold. The State's appeal of that ruling is pending.
↑ Back to the question list19. Tracking a Muskogee County inmate sent to state prison
Sentenced to prison? Months often pass in the county jail first. DOC usually collects people somewhere between 6 and 9 months after sentencing. An assessment and reception center then rates the person and assigns a prison that fits.
- Enter the name on the DOC Offender Lookup to see which DOC unit has them.
- Browse our Oklahoma state prisons list for each facility.
- Mail to a prison must show the person's name with the ODOC number.
- For questions about someone in a prison, ask for their case manager. DOC's main line is 405-425-2500, at 4345 N. Lincoln Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73105.
20. A teen in custody: where to call
An adult jail can hold a teen for six hours at the most, kept apart from adults, only to identify, process or move them (OAC 310:670-5-5). There is no longer a juvenile detention center inside the county; it closed in 2020.
- Call the Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs at 405-530-2800 and ask where the teen was placed. The agency's main office is 2501 N. Lincoln Blvd, Suite 500, Oklahoma City, OK 73105.
- A locked-up teen normally appears before a judge the next judicial day.
