Horry County Bond Hearings happen at the Magistrate's Office

Horry County Magistrate Office Hours:

• Monday- Friday 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
• Saturday, Sunday and holidays 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
• Bond hearings and guilty pleas typically happen at 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. This is subject to change depending on the magistrate’s schedule.

Payment

• Cash and/or surety bonds are posted in the Magistrate’s Office.  
• They accept cash, money orders, and major credit cards, but they cannot accept personal checks. 
• Persons paying a bond with cash must have an exact amount of cash.

Cash and Dash

• Cash and Dash are bondable pay offenses that do not require the offender to go before a magistrate judge.
• The bondable amount paid is the fine amount.
• However, the offender must still must appear in court on the court date listed on the ticket.

How Do You Visit an Inmate in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center? What is the Schedule?

In addition to normal at-the-jail visits, J. Reuben Long Detention Center uses Securus Video Connect for Remote Inmate Video Visitation. 

Video Visitation allows 'approved' friends, family members, attorneys and clergy of an inmate to connect with them using their computer, Securus Video Visitation app, or ‘on-site’ kiosk. 

Steps:
Register and/or log in.
Select the facility of your inmate.
Review the days, available hours and the cost of remote and on-site visits.

What is the Cost of a Remote Video Visit?
Costs vary and are subject to change, but generally visits range from $5.00 to 15.00 for a 15 to 30 minute online or on-site video visit.

How do you know if your Inmate will be available during the time you schedule?
The Securus system knows the times that J. Reuben Long Detention Center inmates are available for remote video visits.
It will not allow you to schedule a visit with your inmate if they are not available or the video visitation kiosk(s) in the jail are booked already.

How Do You Deposit Money for an Inmate in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center?

There are four options for putting money on an inmate's books:

Option 1 - Dropping Money at the Jail
Bring money to the jail in person. 
Either the jail personnel will process the Inmate Account payment (if it's a money order) or you will use a self-serve kiosk in the lobbies that accepts cash, debit or credit cards.

Option 2 - Deposit Inmate Money Online
J. Reuben Long Detention Center and others often use a private company to process all online deposits to an inmate's account. The company charges you a small fee for doing so, but the fee probably isn't as much as gas and parking would cost to take it to the jail in person.

Option 3 - Mail the Inmate Deposit to the Jail
Mailing a deposit takes more time to process than the other methods but can be done if you live too far away to bring it in person and you don't have a debit/credit card for online deposits. Never send cash. Always send a Money Order from the US Post Office, a reputable bank or Western Union.
Make the Money Order out to the inmate's name and put their Inmate ID# in memo section of the Money Order.
