Conway, SC, is the home of the Horry County Jail and Detention Center. The local sheriff’s office is responsible for the operations of the facility and use it as not only a holding center but also the local booking and holding for immediately after arrest. It is a small facility that houses short term inmates, where detainees are held to await their bond hearing and for sentencing. If someone has been arrested in the area they will be taken to this facility directly, and the new bookings and release information can be found on our website above.
Anyone who has been arrested will also be permitted to make a phone call to alert family or friends to their location, or to hire a lawyer to represent them. The J Reuben Long Detention Center, also known as the Horry County Detention Center is made up of several housing units that include a dayroom surrounded by two levels of cells, each holding one to two inmates. It is a direct supervision style with a desk for officers to be within the day room itself while also monitoring the surrounding area. This permits immediate interventions as needed, and can create a community feeling in the space that has been shown to reduce outbreaks and to build relationships between staff and inmates. With the mental health benefits of a positive environment, while higher security and isolation cells feed off another hallway and keep inmates from contacting others. A full commercial kitchen is responsible for all the food services and provides a nutritionally balanced diet for each inmate.
Outgoing phone calls are permitted from the phones that are located in the dayroom and can be accessed during their free hours, with these calls being funded through creation of an account at securustech.net. To add money to an inmates account for commissary and other uses there is an online access at http://www.mcdanielsupplyco.net/. Visits are also encouraged and can be scheduled 24 hours before the planned visit, and visits occur almost every day from 8:30am until 3:15pm, with additional times from 6:30pm to 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and no visits at all on Fridays and Sundays. Four visits are permitted each week for a half hour, and up to three people may attend each visit but they must be on the approved visitor list that the inmate provides.

Steps:
Register and/or log in.
Select the facility of your inmate.
Review the days, available hours and the cost of remote and on-site visits.
Schedule your visit.
What is the Cost of a Remote Video Visit?
Costs vary and are subject to change, but generally visits range from $5.00 to 15.00 for a 15 to 30 minute online or on-site video visit.
How do you know if your Inmate will be available during the time you schedule?
The Securus system knows the times that J. Reuben Long Detention Center inmates are available for remote video visits.
It will not allow you to schedule a visit with your inmate if they are not available or the video visitation kiosk(s) in the jail are booked already.
Once you schedule a visit with your inmate they will be notified of the date and time of the visit.

How Do You Deposit Money for an Inmate in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center?
Option 1 - Dropping Money at the Jail
Bring money to the jail in person.
Either the jail personnel will process the Inmate Account payment (if it's a money order) or you will use a self-serve kiosk in the lobbies that accepts cash, debit or credit cards.
Option 2 - Deposit Inmate Money Online
J. Reuben Long Detention Center and others often use a private company to process all online deposits to an inmate's account. The company charges you a small fee for doing so, but the fee probably isn't as much as gas and parking would cost to take it to the jail in person.
Option 3 - Mail the Inmate Deposit to the Jail
Mailing a deposit takes more time to process than the other methods but can be done if you live too far away to bring it in person and you don't have a debit/credit card for online deposits. Never send cash. Always send a Money Order from the US Post Office, a reputable bank or Western Union.
Make the Money Order out to the inmate's name and put their Inmate ID# in memo section of the Money Order.
