Bullock County Jail in Union Springs, Alabama is operated and managed by the Union Springs Police Department and houses inmates awaiting trial or who are sentenced to serve time in jail.
The Bullock County Jail offers a variety of inmate services including commissary, visitation hours, and an AIS number for each inmate. It houses about 288 detainees. The facility is located on 110 acres, 1.5 miles east of Union Springs. About 27 acres are enclosed by a 20 foot high reinforced concrete wall.
The Jail mainly houses pre-trial detainees and those waiting for their sentences and was built in 1962. The facility is supervised by 93 staff members and offers basic education courses to inmates, such as GEDs and English as a second language.
