Highlands is in the Southern District of Florida. The U.S. District Court hears its federal cases in Fort Pierce, 101 S. U.S. Highway 1, Fort Pierce, FL 34950.
A Fort Pierce magistrate holds the first hearing, and the government may ask for detention at a separate hearing. The U.S. Marshals (772-241-6189) may keep the person in a county jail. Sentenced people appear on the BOP finder.
