With a capacity of 261 beds and opened in 2009, the Lawrence County Jail operates around the clock and has nursing staff onsite at all times. Questions about an inmate or the jail itself can be directed to staff by phone at 931-766-4177 and updates on inmates are available online.
This location houses all of the offenders who are charged with either a misdemeanor or felony in Lawrence County and they will remain at this location both during the time they wait for their trial as well as for a short sentence provided by the court.
All services are provided at the Lawrence County Jail, including full medical care around the clock, mental health support including counseling, substance abuse treatment, and meals, laundry, commissary, and recreation are also provided.
Commissary accounts can be funded by their family and friends who are outside of the jail through the kiosk found in the lobby or online, along with phone calls and prepaid phone cards.
Visits are available both onsite and remotely. Each inmate is permitted two onsite visits of 30 minutes each week, with A and D pods being Saturday/Sunday 9am-9pm, C pod Monday/Tuesday 9am-9pm, and B pod Wednesday/Thursday 9am-9pm. Remote visits are available every day of the week, up to two visits each day.
Phone accounts are also registered online, and allow for inmates to make outgoing calls during the daytime and evening hours when they are not participating in a task or program.

How Do You Deposit Money for an Inmate in the Lawrence County Jail?
There are FOUR options for putting money on an inmate's books:
Option 1 - Dropping Money at the Lawrence County Jail
Bring money to the jail in person.
Either the jail personnel will process the Inmate Account payment or you will use the NCIC self-serve kiosk in the lobbies that accepts cash, debit or credit cards.
Option 2 - Deposit Inmate Money Online
Lawrence County Jail uses NCIC to process all online deposits to an inmate's account. NCIC charges you a small fee for doing so, but the fee probably isn't as much as gas and parking would cost to take it to the jail in person.
