INTERESTING FACTS about the Lawrence County Jail: This facility was opened in 2009 and can hold up to 262 inmates comfortably. There is a round the clock nursing staff. County been proactive about procuring grant money that helps extend educational opportunities and extensive vocation training to inmates to help them get jobs once released. The grant includes full employees for teaching, courses in subjects like welding and plumbing. Also, the grant money includes tablets loaded with educational programs and the monthly subscription that goes with them.
