About the Frisco City Jail
  • The jail has the capacity to accommodate up to 41 inmates simultaneously. It consists of 5 male cells, 2 female cells, 5 single cells, and 1 drunk tank for intoxicated prisoners. Multiple prisoners can be held in each cell.
  • Additional facilities within the jail include a sallyport (a secure entryway for transferring prisoners), a dual intake area for regular and intoxicated prisoners, a bail waiting area, offices for jail administration, a judge's arraignment room, a visitors center, and a control room for electronic monitoring of the facility.
  • Prisoners are allowed two free telephone calls, one at the completion of the booking process and another after an arraignment by the City Magistrate. They also have the option to make collect phone calls from inside the cell block.
  • If a city has issued a warrant for a prisoner, they generally have 24 hours to pick up the individual. Failure to meet this deadline may result in the prisoner's release, and the warrants would be reinstated.
