Autauga Metro Jail Inmate Visitation
Autauga Metro Jail ON SITE INMATE VISITATION SCHEDULE
136 North Court Street
Prattville, AL 36067-3049
334-361-2600
Since inmates returned on April 1, 2026, the jail hasn't published a new visiting timetable. Your loved one's in-person slot could follow the alphabet or the pod where that person sleeps, so call 334-361-2600 and ask which time that inmate has been given.
- First, check the Autauga Metro Jail inmate search to confirm custody in Prattville; jot down the booking number for staff on the call.
- Before the 2024 closure, Pods 5 through 8 had visits on Saturday and Pods 1 through 4 on Sunday, and only people on the approved list could visit. Treat that as history, not as the current plan.
- Remote video visits run through NCIC Inmate Communications; open an NCIC account to schedule one from home.
- Commissary money goes through NCIC online deposits. While you're on the phone, ask whether a lobby kiosk takes cash on visit day; the jail accepts mailed money orders only with staff approval.
Schedule a Visit with an Inmate at the Autauga Metro Jail
Visits let people held at Autauga Metro Jail stay in touch with family and friends while they are in custody.
One way that Autauga Metro Jail is able to accomplish this is with on-site visitation, and video visitation using ncic.
The benefits of inmate visitation are:
- Allows the inmates to stay in touch with friends, family and children.
- It is used as a way to control bad behavior, as inmates could lose this privilege if they act out.
For more information on scheduling visits, call the facility at 334-361-2600, sign up with ncic, or scroll down for a complete section of Visiting Hours, Signing up and Registering with ncic, and Frequently Asked Questions and Answers, including dress codes, rules and guidelines.

What visiting schedule does the reopened Autauga Metro Jail use?
Since the April 2026 return, the jail can assign in-person times by an inmate's surname, by housing pod, or by both. Before you drive downtown, dial 334-361-2600, give the inmate's full name, and ask for that person's visiting slot and the sign-up steps. No visitor dress code has been posted for the reopened jail, so to check what clothing is allowed in the lobby, call the jail at 334-361-2600.
How were Autauga visits split up before the mold closure?
Saturday was set aside for Pods 5 through 8 and Sunday for Pods 1 through 4, but treat that pattern as history until an officer says it is back.
Must my name be cleared in advance before I show up at the Metro Jail lobby?
Before 2024 only names on the inmate's approved list got in, so ask the Metro Jail whether that list is still kept and how a new name gets added.
Is there a home video option for Autauga families?
Yes, through NCIC; our Autauga video visit page walks through account setup.
Where should I park when visiting in Prattville?
Plan extra minutes, since the jail sits beside the courthouse and curbside spots fill up fast whenever court is in session. Before the trip downtown, run the name through our Autauga inmate lookup so you know the person is still held.
