About the Talladega County Jail

Talladega County Jail has a capacity of 485 inmates and is located at 150 East Renfroe Road, Talladega, AL, 35160.

The main contact number for the jail is 256-761-2000. It was built in 1925 and is run by 92 officers and support staff. The facility has a medical unit run by a doctor and nurse, and inmates receive counseling on a weekly basis to help them deal with their psychological problems.

The Alabama Prison Transformation Initiative addressed longstanding, critical issues at Talladega County Jail and it now has programs that help improve the general skills of the inmates. The facility's religious community is served by a volunteer Chaplain and certified volunteers of all faiths, and there are expansive religious opportunities available.

Inmates have the right to receive money for their needs, and visitors must follow certain rules when visiting an inmate. All visits are non-contact and conducted through a glass partition, and the onsite video visits must be scheduled in advance between 8:15am to 4pm Tuesday through Sunday.

Visitors must wear appropriate clothing, including shoes and shirts, and any violation of these restrictions may cause the visit to be cancelled or terminated. Inmates cannot accept incoming calls or make calls, but the supervisor can take incoming calls in case of an emergency. Visitors can send mail to inmates and money to their commissary accounts, and there is an online jail population list for searching information about offenders incarcerated at Talladega County Jail.

Types of Phone Calls
Collect Calls
Collect calls allow you to accept and pay for calls to your land line (only) phone account. This means that if you accept your call from your inmate, all the charges for that call will then be billed to your land line phone account and will show up and be listed on your next local phone bill. Additional fees, costs, restrictions may apply.

Prepaid calls (Direct Calls)
With Prepaid Calls you can set up your account so that the inmate can only call you and/or you can just deposit money in their account and they can purchase prepaid phone cards through their commissary and call whoever they choose, provided the Talladega County Jail approves of the phone number.

Quick Connect
