Washington County Jail uses the services of Reliance Telephone for video (visit) phone calls and for emailing/texting to inmates.

  • Known as the 'Reliance Inmate Wallet', it makes funding jail communication easy. 
  • Payments made into an 'Inmate Wallet' account are linked to a dedicated telephone number for inmates who rent one of their Reliance Tablet Phones.
  • Inmate Wallet funds can be used for personal inmate text messaging, voice calls and video calls. 
  • The cost of this is $4.00 per month for rental of the Reliance Tablet Phone + $0.25 per minute for video and voice calls.

Washington County Jail Makes Announcement about Inmate Tablet Rentals

They may not be directly connected to the internet, but inmates at Washington County Jail either currently, or may soon be able to be able to rent tablets within the jail that allow them to have access to the following services and information:

  • Education - Free educational platform and course catalog that provides thousands of educational resources.
  • Self Help -Inmates have daily access to mental health and addiction recovery programming.
  • Music - Top-40, Hip-Hop, Country, Rock, Gospel, and more.
  • Law Library -  Legal research with up-to-date case information.
  • eBooks - Thousands of available titles.
  • Religion - Religious resources for spiritual guidance.
  • Games - Inmates can play their favorite games. Available through monthly subscriptions
  • Facility Services - Digital access to submitted forms, requests, facility documents, and notifications from staff.

The availability of tablets may seem like something that inmates who are serving time do not deserve, but here are some of the benefits for inmates in Washington County:
