About the Campbell County Jail

INTERESTING FACTS about the Campbell County Jail: An addition was completed in 2012. It added nearly 250 jail beds to the existing 92 bed jail. Before the addition was completed some inmates had been sleeping on the floor due to lack of space. The sheriffs department has a policy that permits alcohol and drug treatment organizations to have reasonable access to persons confined in the jail or workhouse.

Sharing a red brick building with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office the 322-bed Campbell County Jail is the jail for the entire county and houses offenders both while they wait for their trial and if they are given a sentence that is under one year, on either misdemeanor or felony charges.

Staff are able answer some questions on policies and procedures and also non restricted information on an inmate by calling 423-562-7446, and an online lookup permits access to the status of inmates around the clock.

During incarceration inmates are provided with an assessment that will determine what medical and mental health interventions are required and provide that care. Nutritional needs, exercise, recreation, laundry, showers and hygiene items, and all other care is provided by the staff or via contracts with the Campbell County Jail.

Any magazines that contain profanity, weapons, pornography or other content that is adult in nature will be confiscated by the jail staff and will NOT be delivered to the inmate.
