INTERESTING FACTS about the Hancock County Completed in 2021, the housing pods were designed for 440 beds with the shell space for an additional 136 beds. There is the infrastructure to have up to 600 more beds. New buildings for evidence storage, maintenance. And a new intake area, kitchen and laundry were also part of the design. The sheriff’s office is located within the same building.

During COVID, in person visitation was halted for inmates throughout the country. It prompted facilities to make it a priority to upgrade their abilities to have video visitation. Many jails have restarted in person visitations. Call 423-733-2249 to confirm whether or not the Hancock County Jail is offering in person visitation. If not, you will need to create an account for video visitation rights. It may be difficult to see your friend or loved ones while they are incarcerated, but it is important for their well-being.
