The Anderson County Jail is the lockup run by Sheriff W. R. Flores at 1200 East Lacy Street, Palestine, TX 75801, within a mile of the county's 1931 jail building near the courthouse square. This building on Lacy Street dates to the late 1980s. Before that, prisoners were held in the Art Deco jail the county built in 1931 at 704 Avenue A, which replaced an 1880 brick jail on the same lot. The 1931 building later served as a juvenile detention center until 1996, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998, and now operates as an event space called the Texas Jailhouse.
