In Orange County, as everywhere in Florida, most defendants have a constitutional right to be released before trial on reasonable conditions. Release can be denied for capital or life felonies when the proof is evident, or if no conditions would protect the community. Many minor misdemeanor and traffic arrests end with a notice to appear. Bond amounts for other charges start with the Florida Supreme Court’s uniform statewide bond schedule.
To get an inmate’s bail, call the Orange County Booking & Release Center at 407-836-3400. If you know what they were arrested for, the Florida uniform statewide bond schedule for 2026 can help you estimate it, but local circuits can set higher amounts and the judge at first appearance can change the bond. Cash, surety bonds, and property bonds are accepted, and personal recognizance release is an option.
The Orange County Booking & Release Center is licensed for 592 inmates, but it often has to make room for many more, especially on weekends. The monthly turnover rate at most city and county jails in Florida is at least 35-40% of the inmate population, with an additional 25-30% every 90 days and an additional 15-20% every six months. Approximately 8-9% stay incarcerated between six and twelve months. Inmates held longer than twelve months are usually facing serious charges such as rape or murder. Because those cases take longer to prepare for trial, offenders arrested in this county remain in one of the Orange County facilities much longer.
Orange County law enforcement agencies arrest and detain approximately 84,640 offenders every year.
For a look at the facility, view our photos of the jail.

The Booking and Release Center provides specific services to the community and to the Department of Corrections. It is at this facility that the booking and processing for the county occur, as well as where inmates will remain until their first appearance, but also for the release of inmates at the end of their sentence or if they are found to be innocent. Bail may be posted at this location around the clock, and inmates are admitted at any time they are surrendered by law enforcement.
This facility consists of 592 beds for the temporary housing of both male and female inmates, and its front windows that allow large amounts of light and the open space lobby is less intimidating for visitors than other facilities may be. Twelve housing units make up the housing options for the detainees, and this will be where those who are not able to be released or bonded out before their trial will remain until their first court date. There is an orientation on site, as well as housing for inmates who are working, for require special medical care, and those who require special mental health treatment, a medical clinic that includes a pharmacy as well as a x-ray and dialysis areas, and a space for ultrasounds.
Courtrooms located on the fourth floor ensure that all who have court dates will be able to attend them without requiring transport to the courthouse. With direct supervision there are staff and safety officers within each of the housing pods where they will interact with the inmates each day and provide positive social interactions.
Bonds are payable in money order, certified cheque, Western Union, or traveler cheque at the public windows in the facility at 3855 South John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL 32839. For expedited bonds it is necessary to appear with the person who is turning themselves in at the lobby between 8am and 2pm, at which time their fingerprints and photograph may be taken in the lobby, allowing for bail to be paid immediately, and they will be released without entering the rest of the facility.
All visits are currently via video visitation, and there is a visitation station, or they can be done online from home. The Video Visitation Center is found at 3000 39th Street, Orlando, Florida, 32839, and this is the center for all facilities within the county, and visits are booked by calling 407-836-8061 at least one full day in advance between the hours of 9:30am and 8:30pm. After registering for visits the first time all future visits may be scheduled online.
Along with video visits, phone calls (calls are $0.145/minute) are through the GTL program and an account is created online.
Inmates are also able to receive mail, including paperback books, when addressed appropriately and containing no additional material, blank paper or envelopes, stationary, adult content, or other additions.
