How do Inmates make phone calls?


Every jail and prison operates its inmate phone call system differently.

  • Some allow collect calls only
  • Some only allow the cost to be deducted from their inmate accounts
  • Most only allow a 15-20 minute call per occurrence.
  • Some allow a maximum number of minutes (e.g. 200 minutes) per month.
  • Phone calls are only allowed to be made during certain times of the day or night.

Warning: All phone conversations with inmates are monitored and recorded by the jail or prison system.
