How much does bail cost?

The cost of bail varies. In the states that allow bail (all US states except for Kentucky, Illinois, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Oregon), the bailbondsman charges between 10-20% of the bail required by the court.

This fee is to give you some skin in the game. This fee is non-fundable.

Kentucky, Illinois, Wisconsin and Nebraska allow you to be released on bail by placing 10-20% of the bail amount in an account secured by the local jurisdiction.
